Report Abuse
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Spanli hosts websites built by our customers. If one of them breaks our Acceptable Use Policy or the law, tell us and we will look at it.
Where to send a report
Email abuse@spanli.com.
This is the right address for content on a Spanli-hosted site, including copyright and trademark complaints. It is monitored by people, not a bot.
Two things go elsewhere. A security vulnerability in Spanli itself goes to our security page. A question about your own account, your billing or your own site goes to support@spanli.com.
What to include
A report we can act on immediately saves a round trip. Please give us:
- The exact address. The full URL of the page, not just the domain. If the problem is on several pages, list them.
- What is wrong. Describe the problem in your own words and tell us which rule you think it breaks, or which law.
- Evidence. Screenshots with a visible URL and timestamp, or a copy of the offending text. Attach files rather than linking to them where you can.
- Your relationship to it. Whether you are the person affected, the rights holder, a representative acting for one, or an uninvolved member of the public.
- How to reach you. A working email address, and a name if you are making a legal claim.
If you are reporting a copyright or trademark infringement
Also include:
- identification of the work or mark you say is infringed, and where your own copy of it can be seen;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them;
- your name and contact details, and an electronic signature.
If someone is in immediate danger
Contact your local emergency services first. Then write to us and put the word URGENT in the subject line so it is picked up ahead of the queue.
What we do when a report arrives
- We acknowledge it, normally within two business days, and sooner for anything urgent.
- We look at the site ourselves against our Acceptable Use Policy and the law.
- We decide what to do. That may be no action, a request to the site owner to change something, removal of specific content, unpublishing the site, or suspending or terminating the account. Serious cases are acted on immediately and without warning to the site owner.
- We tell you the outcome. We will not share the site owner’s personal details with you, and we cannot act as an intermediary in a private dispute between you and them.
Child sexual abuse material is removed on sight, without warning and without appeal, and reported to the relevant authorities.
We may pass your report, including what you wrote and your contact details, to the site owner so that they can respond, unless doing so would put someone at risk. Tell us in your message if you do not want your details shared.
If your site was removed
If we acted against your site and you believe the decision was wrong, reply to the message we sent you, or write to support@spanli.com from the email address on the account, explaining why. A different person reviews the appeal where that is possible. If material of yours was removed after a copyright complaint and you believe it was a mistake or that your use was authorised, say so and we will pass your response to the complainant.
Bad faith reports
Reporting is free and we would rather receive a report that turns out to be nothing than miss a real one. But knowingly false reports, particularly copyright complaints filed to remove a competitor, waste time and can carry legal consequences for the person who filed them. We may decline to process reports from a source that repeatedly sends them.
