An honest comparison, including where they win
Spanli vs Wix: a Wix alternative with no editor to learn
Wix hands you a powerful drag-and-drop editor and a thousand templates, and you do the arranging. Spanli builds the site from a description and changes it when you ask — there’s no editor to learn, ever. Both are real trade-offs. Here’s the whole picture, including the parts where they’re better.

You type “A sourdough bakery in Bristol, open from seven, custom orders by the tray” - and Spanli assembles the site in front of you: opening, this week, from the counter, custom orders. The changes receipt reads: Added: 4 sections - opening, this week, from the counter, custom orders.

Where Wix is genuinely better
Three reasons to choose them instead
They sell things, take bookings, and run whole businesses
Stores, bookings, restaurant menus, memberships, and an app market with hundreds of add-ons. Spanli does none of that. If you need a shop or a booking calendar today, stop reading this page and go to theirs.
Their free plan has no clock either
You can stay on a free Wix site indefinitely — on a wixsite.com address, with their branding on the page. If that address and that badge are fine for where you are right now, it costs nothing, and that's a real offer.
They're a known quantity
Wix has been building this product since 2006 and runs one of the largest site platforms on the web. We're pre-launch. That should count for something in your decision, and we'd rather say it than have you find out.
Where we're different
Three reasons to try this instead
No editor to learn
Wix gives you a powerful editor and expects you to drive it: strips, sections, breakpoints. Ours is a sentence. “Move the testimonials above the pricing” is something you say, not something you drag — on day two, and on day two hundred.
No template to outgrow
On Wix, the template you pick on day one is the house you live in — a genuinely new look usually means rebuilding on a new template. Here there's nothing to be locked into: describe the new look and the site is rebuilt around your content.
The price is just the price
Intro rates that jump at renewal are how this industry works. Ours doesn't: $19/month, or $190/year — two months off for paying yearly — and the renewal is the same number you signed up at.
Make it yours

Who should pick which
The straight version
Pick Wix if you're selling products or taking bookings, if you enjoy arranging pages yourself in a capable editor, or if a wixsite.com address with their branding is fine for now — their free plan is a real one.
Pick Spanli if you never want to learn an editor, if the site needs to change often and you'd rather ask than drag, or if the last attempt died somewhere inside a template you'd stopped liking.
