What Spanli is

Spanli builds and looks after your website from a conversation. You describe what you want, it makes it, and the result is yours.

Spanli makes websites for people who do not make websites. You say what your business is, in the words you would use with a customer, and a finished site is built in front of you. After that, every change is a sentence in the same conversation.

There is nothing to install, nothing to drag around a page, and no part of it where you are expected to know what something is called.

What you get

A real website, with the pages your kind of business needs, written and laid out for you:

  • A first draft, built while you watch. Not a blank template — your words, your kind of business, your photos if you have them.
  • A free web address, set up for you the first time you publish, so you have a link to send without buying anything.
  • A form that collects enquiries, with the replies waiting for you in one list.
  • Somewhere to keep the things that change — your menu, your services, your projects — that you update like filling in a form.
  • A history of everything, so any change can be put back.

How you change it

Three ways, and you will use all of them:

  1. Say it in chat. "Add a section about gift cards." "We are closed on Mondays now." See Asking for changes.
  2. Point at it. Click the thing on your own site and type what is wrong with it. See Pointing at something.
  3. Fill in a form. New dish, new price, finished project. See The lists you keep.

What Spanli does not do

We would rather tell you now than let you find out later. Spanli builds sites that inform, persuade and collect enquiries. It does not build shops or booking systems.

That means no card payments or checkout, no appointment booking with a calendar, and no accounts for your visitors to log into. If you need those, you have outgrown what Spanli makes, and you should know that before you spend an evening here. The full list is in What Spanli does not do.

What it costs to start

Nothing. Every account gets one free site, and it stays free — a real site at a real address, not a trial that expires.

Paid plans add your own domain name and the more thorough build settings. What you pay and what a change costs is explained in Plans and credits.

Is the site really mine?

Yes. The words, the pictures, the pages and the domain name if you buy one are yours. Spanli hosts the site for you, and putting it online is one button — there is no second company to sign up with and no second bill.
